Field Trips
Field School volunteers had the

collections management shared basic
principles of working with museum
collections.
TFAHR provided transportation for three weekend trips to:
  • Vinica:  the local museum, fortress, and emu farm
  • Ohrid, with its medieval churches and Citadel
  • the Roman site of Heraclea Lynkestis (Bitola)
  • the Roman site of Stobi
presentations on such topics as:  lime kilns in England; recent excavations at Pompeii, in England and the Middle East; pottery profile drawing;
and computer software for 3-D reconstruction and animation.

To work alongside the volunteers of the International Field School, TFAHR employed 10 workmen from Sveti Nikole and Knezje.  TFAHR was
also joined by volunteers from the US Peace Corps who gave up vacation and free days to excavate with us at Bylazora.
